The morning started out pretty casual at the Bottle Factory Wedding Venue in Monroe. Meredith showed up ready to marry her man. I’m pretty sure we all told her to sit down and let someone else do something more than once. As I was photographing her details more members of the family and bridal party started to show up and put the final touches on the day. Ben arrived very calm and excited to see his bride and her wedding dress.
It was a hot day in July and with the wedding in downtown Monroe our options for outdoor photos were limited to a small shady space in the courtyard. It was the perfect quaint spot for Meredith and Ben’s first look. Just the two of them in a small courtyard strung with market lights and greenery details.
“I love your dress so much!” was the first thing Ben said when he saw his beautiful bride! The two embraced, said sweet things to each other and I’m sure fell in love all over again.
After a few bride and groom portraits and laughs, we made our way inside to cool off, because summer in North Carolina means high humidity and you can’t stay outside very long. The upstairs ceremony space in the Bottle Factory Wedding Venue was the perfect spot to keep our entire bridal party cooled off for portraits.
At the same time the ceremony started a terrible summer storm rolled through and everyone began to worry. While the winds were crazy high and rain pouring down hard, I tried to think of the dark space as mood lighting. It was a tad darker and the bridal party walked down the aisle, our Bride was escorted by her father where Meredith and Ben met again at the altar.
As they said their vows and as their parents prayed over them, the guests were looking on with love and support. Knowing they were starting their future right Meredith and Ben carefully chose their wedding guests to the closest and most important people. Coming from different parts of the state and different parts of their lives, church, family, college friends, close family friends. They were all carefully chosen.
After they said I Do and were pronounced Mr and Mrs Ben Robinson, they danced the night away with their guest, shared in laughter and cheers. Meredith and Ben, I wish you nothing but the best. Your love is so sweet and pure and I’m so honored to have spent this time with you two. Thank you for being the sweetest clients ever!
