Couples

When Anna and Dylan got engaged Anna immediately asked me for recommendations of wedding photographers. I gave her a list of local photographers who I trusted in their quality, whether I knew them or just had been following them for years. Of course I sent her my pricing information, and told her I would love to capture their day!

Dylan and I had a lot of classes together in grade school and with Anna being a year younger we did cheer and gymnastics together growing up. I’ve known them both since elementary school age. Even though Anna told me they wanted me to enjoy their wedding day and be with friends I agreed but reassured her “I’ll have the best view than anybody and I would of course still enjoy the day even if I was working!”.

How They Met

Dylan and Anna met in middle school when he asked her to be his prom date (she was in the 7th grade and he was in the 8th). They dated for a few months but went separate ways when Dylan went to high school. They kept in touch during high school and had crushes on each other but one of them always had a significant other while the other was single.

Fast-forward to the first semester of Anna’s sophomore year of college- she was home for the weekend from Chapel Hill and was going to a “get together” with some friends. Anna’s friend convinced her to invite Dylan and of course was nervous to ask since it had been a while! He showed up after work (he worked 2nd shift at the time) and they immediately picked up where they left off! Dylan asked Anna to be his girlfriend soon after and the rest was history.

How He Proposed

For their 4 year anniversary, Anna had planned a trip to Chapel Hill (her favorite place on earth) to watch the UNC-NC State football game. When they finally arrived after the 2.5 hour drive, they parked and tailgated for a bit with friends. They were about to start the trek to the stadium when Dylan walked up to her, grabbed her hands and said “the last time we were here we were dating”. She said “yeah?” completely oblivious to what he was talking about! Then he said “the next time we are here, I want you to be my wife, will you marry me?” Anna said she was completely caught off guard but of course said yes! They spent the entire football game announcing their engagement to friends and family and staring at her beautiful ring! They ended up leaving the game early to go celebrate on Franklin street.

When they were finally officially planning their wedding day, Anna texted me to tell me and asked if I was free on their wedding date! She then told me that they had planned all along to have me as their wedding photographer! YAY! I’m so excited, they’re the sweetest friends and happiest couples!
