Last fall Sarah told me she wanted to plan a family session and of course I’m super excited to help plan any session! Sarah and I work in the same department at work, my day job. So it was even more exciting that I was getting the opportunity to mix my dream job and my day job! Her Charleston inspired neighborhood was the perfect location to capture this exciting season for their family.
We originally planned for a Christmas session but it fell through and work was crazy busy with lots of changes throughout the winter and early spring. Then Sarah found out she was pregnant and they were moving into Sarah’s dream home. Everything happens for a reason because this session was perfect in every way, including the timing.
We had briefly talked outfits prior and I had given them a style guide to help plan outfit combinations but as soon as I saw Sarah in her pastel colored floral maxi dress I knew it was going to be a really good session. Soft colors are my favorite to photograph!
Their Charleston inspired neighborhood in South Charlotte is a serious gem. I was shocked when I first pulled in. All the picket fences, colorful houses and well groomed front yards with flowers put the cherry on top of a beautiful and sweet family turned maternity session.
